Should We Take Pictures Before or After Our Wedding?
Your wedding is a special day; a day that will be full of wonderful memories for you and your loved ones. Taking pictures is a very important part of your day. Pictures are a key to helping you keep your wonderful memories alive for years to come.
Tradition says the groom doesn’t’ see the bride till the ceremony, but this tradition started way before the days of modern photography! If it is important to you to wait until your groom sees you; think about how this may actually occur. As you enter the room; your groom is busy looking past your guests, the flowers and decorations, to see you... for a couple of precious moments... then he has to refocus right away on the ceremony! What if your future husband could focus all his attention on you? How would you like to enter the room in advance of the wedding, with only your groom there waiting for you to appear? You could share this magical moment alone together, the beginning of your new life… before your hectic wedding day begins!
You could then take your pictures together knowing you both look your very best. You’ll be able to take your time with no need to hurry for the sake of your guests! No worries about a member of your wedding party leaving for the reception before you are done taking all the pictures. And your guests will have more fun as you will be able to join them almost immediately after the ceremony…no waiting around for an hour or two
This is something we would like you to consider as we want your very special day to be wonderful from beginning to end. I have worked with many bride and grooms over the years, none have ever regretted taking their pictures early, but I have had several couples wish they had elected to take at least some if not most of their pictures before their ceremony started. After thinking how you would like your day to proceed, just let us know your preference, and we will take care of you.
What Day Should We Have Our Wedding?
Saturday is the most common day by far for weddings; but you might want to consider Friday night or Sunday also. This of course depends on how far your guests are coming to attend your wedding as well as other personal preferences. But since most weddings are held on Saturday, that means that photographers, churches, synagogues, reception halls, florists, etc… may be booked also. As for time of day? The middle of the day is the hardest for photographers to work with. We prefer morning or evening light.
