"The human face is my landscape" - Joshua Bell
My goal with portrait work is to get people to relax and reveal themselves to the camera. I rarely pose people, preferring to lead them to a position or posture that feels natural and comfortable. Often, especially with children, I just let people be. Eventually, I'll catch them being themselves, even if it's just for a moment. I recommend black and white portraits. I love the timeless aesthetic and the archival technical qualities of a black and white photo. A black and white photo will last long after a color photo and the associated memories are faded and gone.
